Plastic products dominate our daily lives. It is probably one the most ubiquitous household items, used for carry bags, utensils, toys... you name it, it¡¯s there. It's an easy grab-and-go option when you step outdoors, for containing beverages and food items.
But it¡¯s also one of the main causes of for the death and extinction of a number of animals, birds, and marine life, in particular.
A large chunk of the discarded plastic ends up in the oceans. All this for our convenience!

1. A Seattle-based photographer, Chris Jordan exposed a gut-wrenching picture of plastic products found in the stomach a bird species, called Laysan Albatross found in the Midway Atoll, a stretch of sand and coral in the Northern Pacific Ocean.
Most of these birds ingest bottle caps, cigarette lighters, toys, fishing lines and other garbage which has ultimately led to a slow and excruciating death.
2. This disturbing video shows plastic straw yanked out of the nostril of an endangered sea turtle by a group of marine biologists.
Marine biologists from Costa Rica were appalled when they pulled out a 10-12 cm long straw out of a turtle's nostril.
3. When this deer¡¯s head got stuck in a pumpkin pail, people followed the hapless animal, named Sammy, for three miles, but no one was able to get close enough to remove the bucket.
4. This poor sea turtle got caught in a huge fishing net. According to scientists, animals, particularly turtles that get stuck in fishnets can suffer from decompression sickness, also known as the bends,and it's a killer for endangered animals.
5. This woman found a duck had been trapped by the plastic ring, and was unable to eat, drink or preen normally,
6. This poor dog somehow survived three weeks with its head trapped inside a bottle. Once it was finally safe, rescuers realised that it also had puppies.
7. A sperm whale was found washed ashore dead after swallowing 64 pounds of plastic debris. The male sperm whale was found on the Murcian coast in southern Spain.
8. Plastic microparticles are getting into the flesh of fish eaten by humans. The plastics found included nylon, polystyrene and polyethylene.
