14 Actors You Didn't Realise Who Were In Game Of Thrones & Harry Potter Series

The entire world is obsessing over Game of Thrones just like it did a few years ago over Harry Potter series. There¡¯s no corner in the world where you wouldn¡¯t find a GoT or a Harry Potter fan. And chances are that most of the people who have been fawning over Harry Potter since years are now going bonkers over the currently being aired fantasy drama series. And if in case you are one of the many, have you ever realised that there¡¯s a lot of crossover between the actors of both the shows?

Do you remember seeing Michelle Fairley who plays Catelyn Stark AKA Arya Stark¡¯s mother in Harry Potter? Confused, shocked and perplexed? Well, there are several other actors who have featured in both the series, and we apparently didn¡¯t realise. Here¡¯s the list:

1. Michelle Fairley as Catelyn Stark and Hermione's mother

Michelle Fairley, who played Ned Stark¡¯s wife and died in season of the GoT, also made a brief appearance in the first part of Deathly Hallows as Hermione's mother.

Natalia Tena, who played the fearless wildling Osha in Game of Thrones before being killed by Ramsay Bolton in the sixth season, played Nymphadora Tonks in Harry Potter fandom.

3. David Bradley as Walder Frey and Argus Filch

Who doesn¡¯t remember David Bradley, the Lord Walder Frey, the Lord of the Crossing, the Lord of Riverrun, the Lord Paramount of the Trident, and the head of House Frey, who was killed by Arya Sark in retaliation of the Red Wedding. He appeared in Harry Potter as Argus Filch, the cruel caretaker at Hogwarts.

4. Ciar¨¢n Hinds As Mance Rayder and Aberforth Dumbledore

Ciar¨¢n Hinds the King Beyond the Wall, the leader of the Free Folk from Game of Thrones, who feared the Night¡¯s Watch played Aberforth Dumbledore, Albus' brother, in the final Harry Potter movie.

5. Freddie Stroma as Dickon Tarly and Cormac McLaggen

Freddie Stroma who plays the role of Dickon Tarly, Sam¡¯s younger brother in Game of Thrones, who appeared the season six when the Tarly family was having dinner and the one who played an important role in the last episode The Spoils of War on season 7, is gradually emerging to be a popular character in GoT. The actor has also appeared in Harry Potter where he played the role of Cormac McLaggen, who annoyed Hermione during the Christmas party of Professor Slughorn.

6. Julian Glover as Grand Maester Pycelle and the voice of Aragog

The Grand Maester Pycelle is played by Julian Glover in Game of Thrones, but remember what he played in Harry Potter? You probably won¡¯t because he was the voice Aragog, the giant spider.

7. Nicholas Blane as The Spice King and Bob, the wizard

Nicholas Blane, the same actor who played the role of the Spice King in Game of Thrones¡ªwho was one of those who ruled Qarth, and was killed by warlock Pyat Pree and a fellow member, also played Bob, a wizard who worked with Arthur Weasley at the Ministry of Magic in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

8. Bronson Webb as Will from the Night¡¯s Watch and Draco Malfoy

Bronson Webb who played Will a member of the Night¡¯s watch¡ªwho had fled from the White Walkers and was killed by Ned Stark for deserting his men, played Slytherin student, a friend of Draco Malfoy, in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

9. Ralph Ineson as Dagmer Cleftjaw and Amycus Carrow

Ralph Ineson played the role of Dagmer Cleftjaw, a raider noted for his skills in the battle and his association and loyalty to House Greyjoy in GoT. However, he betrayed Theon at the Winterfell and stabbed Maester Luwin, Dagmer. In Harry Potter, he portrayed Amycus Carrow, a Death Eater.

Legendary actor Jim Broadbent who made his debut in Game of Thrones season 7 as Archmaester Marwyn aka Marwyn the Mage has appeared in Harry and the Half-Blood Prince as well as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ¨C Part 2 as Professor Horace Slughorn.

11. Edward Tudor-Pole as protestor and Mr. Borgin

Edward Tudor-Pole played a protestor in Game of Thrones season 2 where in his blink-and-miss appearance he was seen as ranting street preacher in the King¡¯s Landing. In Harry Potter, he played the role of Mr. Borgin, the owner of Borgin and Burke's.

12. Sally Mortemore as unnamed resident of Braavos and Madame Irma Pince

While in Game of Thrones, Sally Mortemore played the role of an unnamed resident of Braavos in the sixth season, in Harry Potter she played Madame Irma Pince in the Chamber of Secrets.

13. Daniel Tuite as Lothar Frey and Skinny Ministry Wizard

Daniel Tuite who played Lothar Frey in Game of Thrones also appeared in a blink-and-miss moment in Deathly Hallows Part 1 as skinny ministry wizard.

Ian Whyte, the man who is 7 feet 1 inch tall, has played a lot of tall characters in Game of Thrones including the Mountain, the Free Folk giant Wun-Wun and White Walker. In Happy Potter, he has not played a part as a character but he has appeared as body double for Hagrid¡¯s ladylove Madame Olympe Maxime in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
