Arbaaz Khan Insists 'Sridevi Bungalow' Has Nothing To Do With Sridevi & Her Unfortunate Demise
We wonder if this latest statements of the actors will help to calm down the controversy around the film.
Ever since Priya Varrier¡¯s Sridevi Bungalow trailer has been out it has been criticised by everyone. The trailer was called insensitive as, in the end, the character of the film dies in the bathtub which is in reference to Sridevi¡¯s demise.
The legendary actor had died of accidental drowning in a bathtub in a hotel room in February 2018. Sridevi¡¯s husband Boney Kapoor too was extremely upset with the trailer and slapped a legal notice against the makers of the film earlier this year.
Priya, who became a national crush with her one wink was lashed at for being a part of such an insensitive film. However, she held herself strong and fought against the controversy saying the film has nothing to do with the death of legendary actor Sridevi but the trailer says otherwise.
Now Arbaaz Khan who is also a part of the film claims that the makers of Sridevi Bungalow have assured him that this film has no connection with Sridevi¡¯s death.
Talking about the controversy around the film to IANS, Arbaaz said, ¡°When they offered me the film, I¡¯d asked them if it has anything to do with the unfortunate incident with Sridevi ji and they denied it completely. They said the story has no relevance with her and that they had registered the story and the title of the film long back.¡±
He further added, ¡°They told me they have addressed the issue earlier with the media and that I should be rest assured that just because the title is similar doesn¡¯t mean the film is co-related to the incident that has happened. I got some assurance¡±.
Priya, who was present with Arbaaz during and interaction also added, ¡°It is more of director and producer¡¯s concern because I am portraying the character that is given to me. It was not our agenda to intentionally hurt anyone¡¯s feelings¡±.
We wonder if this latest statements of the actors will help in putting the controversy around the film to rest.
