Mohanlal¡¯s Barroz, one of the most eagerly-awaited films of the year hit the screens on December 25 amid much fanfare. It, however, failed to live up to expectations and received negative reviews with critics panning the screenplay. The fantasy drama has also not done as well as expected at the Indian box office, collecting nearly Rs 5 crore in two days. The lukewarm response to Barroz has forced fans to take to X (formerly known as Twitter) to beg ¡®Lalettan¡¯ to select scripts that do justice to his abilities.

Mohanlal, one of Mollywood¡¯s biggest stars, is going through a lean phase on the work front. None of his recent films, barring Neru, have done too well at the ticket window. Moreover, films such as Alone and Monster have received flak for failing to do justice to his abilities. Sadly, Barroz is another letdown This has prompted netizens to beg him to rethink his script selection and take up films that enhance his legacy.

It remains to be seen if ¡®Lalettan¡¯ is able to revive his career with his upcoming films. The ¡®Complete Actor¡¯ will soon be seen in Vishnu Manchu¡¯s Kannappa and the Prithviraj-helmed L2 . He is also expected to team up with Jeethu Joseph for Drishyam 3.
