A police notice was recently sent to the showrunners underlining the violation of female contestants¡¯s privacy during a task. An India Today report reveals that the Kumbalgodu Police issued the notice following a complaint filed by the Karnataka State Commission for Women.
What is the privacy breach controversy of Bigg Boss Kannada 11?
Recently, a task was aired titled ¡®Heaven and Hell¡¯ where contestants were divided into different sections with some of them getting placed in a prison-like setting. Women¡¯s Commission alleged that there was a potential privacy violation, especially of female contestants in that multi-camera environment. They also underlined the lack of proper food, sanitation and overall treatment of inmates.
The Commission chaired by Nagalakshmi Chaudhary argued that the female contestants¡¯ condition amounted to a violation of their dignity and privacy. As per the notice, the makers were asked to appear for an enquiry and unedited raw footage and audio of that controversial task were also demanded.
What did Bigg Boss Kannada makers say in response to the latest controversy?
The makers have refrained from making any official remark about the ongoing legal soup. However, police have managed to record the statements of five female housemates who were locked on the Hell side during the task. India Today sources confirm that all the women denied any sort of human rights violation and clarified to authorities that nothing was forced on them without consent.
As of now, the content managers have retracted the Heaven and Hell setup and all contestants have moved back to the normal way of living under the same roof. For the unversed, Bigg Boss Kannada 11 premiered on September 29 this year with 17 contestants onboard. Karthik Mahesh who was the winner of season 10 received a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh, a car, and an electric moped.
