The entertaining video introduces them all as members of the Dholakias, a close-knit dysfunctional Gujarati family with four generations living under one roof and dealing with one another in their own peculiar and eccentric ways.

The trailer shows Ratna making an impression with her humorous one-liners and Raj Babbar constantly pulling her wool over her eyes.
One of their kids lives contentedly with them and his family, but another son recently got married while visiting Las Vegas. They decide to take a family vacation in order to teach their grandson and daughter-in-law the value of a cohesive family as they prepare to move into a new apartment.

Talking about the show, Ratna Pathak Shah said ¡°There is a certain joy in playing a character who is unabashedly herself. Hemlata Dholakia is a character who wears her heart on her sleeve, but is always ready with a sassy remark. She is unintentionally hilarious, honest to the point of being brash, but also fiercely protective of her family.¡±

Raj Babbar said, ¡°Comedy is not a genre I have often dabbled with. Happy Family: Conditions Apply is, in fact, my first out-and-out comedy, and that itself is what made me want to be a part of this series."

As part of the ensemble cast, the series also includes Sanah Kapur, Meenal Sahu, Raunaq Kamdar, Ahaan Saboo, Swati Das, Kariuki Margaret Wanjiku, Paresh Ganatra, Pranoti Pradhan, Samar Vermani, and Neha Julka. It was created and directed by Aatish Kapadia and JD Majethia under the auspices of Hats Off Productions.
The 10-episode series will have a four-episode start on March 10 on Amazon Prime Video, with two further episodes airing every Friday until March 31.
