Commenting on her character, Huma said: ¡°Tarla Dalal reminds me of my childhood. My mom had a copy of her book in the kitchen and would often try many of her recipes for my school tiffin.¡±
Piyush Gupta is the film's director, and Ronnie Screwvala, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and Nitesh Tiwari are the producers.
Incidentally, Huma is descended from a line of restaurant owners. Her father owns the renowned Saleem's restaurant chain in Delhi, which bears her brother Saqib Saleem's name and is noted for its kababs.
¡°I also clearly remember the time when I helped mom make Tarla¡¯s homemade mango ice-cream. This role has taken me back to those sweet childhood memories,¡± Huma Qureshi added

Tarla Dalal¡¯s Life And More
Indian cookbook author, chef, food writer, and host of cookery programmes Tarla Dalal. The Pleasures of Vegetarian Cooking, her debut cookbook, was released in 1974. She has now written more than 100 books and sold over 10 million copies. She also launched a bimonthly magazine called Cooking & More and ran the biggest Indian cuisine website. The Tarla Dalal Show and Cook It Up With Tarla Dalal were two of her cooking programmes. About 25 periodicals published her recipes, which were tested in 120 million Indian homes, according to estimates.
She wrote about a variety of foods and healthy cooking, but she was an expert in Indian food, particularly Gujarati food. She was the only Indian working in the field of cuisine to receive the Padma Shri award when it was given by the Indian government in 2007. Additionally, she received the 2005 Indian Merchants' Chamber Women of the Year Award. On November 6, 2013, she suffered a heart attack and passed away unfortunately.
