A few days ago, the action-war film Amaran hit theaters. Now, it's ready for an OTT release on Netflix. Sai Pallavi and Sivakarthikeyan play the main parts in the film and because of its plot and stellar cast, the film is eagerly awaited. Since it is his 21st film as a lead actor, the film was first formally announced in January 2022 under the provisional title Sivakarthikeyan 21. The actual title was revealed in February 2024. It's an adaption of Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh's book series India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes, which includes a section about Mukund.
Cast
Sai Pallavi plays Mukund's wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese, while Sivakarthikeyan plays Major Mukund "Maddy" Varadarajan. Bhuvan Arora portrays Sepoy Vikram Singh, and Rahul Bose plays Colonel Amit Singh Dabas. Lallu makes an appearance as Sepoy Ravi Shankar, while Haethakshi V. plays Arsheya "Arshu," In addition to Shyamaprasad as George Varghese and Shyam Mohan as Deepu, Shreekumar plays Sepoy Michael.

Plot
Major Mukund Varadarajan, a commissioned officer in the Indian Army's Rajput Regiment, was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his bravery during a counterterrorism operation while serving with the 44th Rashtriya Rifles battalion in Jammu and Kashmir. His story is the basis for the film Amaran.
Box office
On its 31st day in India, Amaran made 1.50 crores. The movie has made 214.70 crore net at the Indian box office according to trade website Sacnilk.
