At the centre of Animal Salvaje is Ant¨®n, played by Luis Zahera, a vet from rural Galicia, the kind of guy more comfortable treating cows than cuddling chihuahuas. But life takes a turn when he¡¯s forced to work at a fancy pet boutique in the city, run by his young and driven niece Ux¨ªa (played by Luc¨ªa Caraballo).

Ant¨®n¡¯s world flips upside down. Gone are the muddy fields and cowbells. Instead, he¡¯s dealing with dog grooming, glittery accessories, and rich clients who treat their pets like royalty. The clash between Ant¨®n¡¯s old-school ways and the over-the-top world of urban pet parenting is what gives this comedy its heart and humour.

Meet the cast of Animal Salvaje

The show brings together a strong cast, including Luis Zahera (Entrev¨ªas, Vivir sin permiso) as Ant¨®n, the traditional vet trying to fit in, Luc¨ªa Caraballo (No me gusta conducir) as Ux¨ªa, his ambitious niece and boutique owner, Carmen Ru¨ªz (Amar en tiempos revueltos) and Antonio Dur¨¢n ¡°Morris¡± (Fari?a) among others.

Made in Galicia, from the Heart

What makes Animal Salvaje stand out is its setting. The story takes place in Topomorto, a fictional village created by blending multiple real locations in Galicia, including Dio?o, A Calle, Pontemaceira, Teo, and Vedra. The boutique scenes are set in Santiago de Compostela, showing the contrast between the quiet countryside and the stylish city life.

The creators, Aitor Gabilondo (Patria, El Silencio) and Jota Aceytuno (Urban, La vida es nuestra), teamed up with directors Alberto del Toro and V¨ªctor Garc¨ªa Le¨®n. The script comes from a talented writing team: Ana Boyero, Araceli ?lvarez de Sotomayor, Germ¨¢n Aparicio, and Daniel Castro.
