What is Bad Boy about?

At the heart of Bad Boy is Dean, a teenager who lives a simple life with his mother and younger brother. One night, without warning, police officers stormed into their home and arrested Dean, dragging him off to a juvenile detention centre. The reason? It¡¯s not clear at first, but what follows is a tough, emotional, and brutally real look at how a system can either destroy or shape a young life.

Inside the prison, Dean meets Zoro, a quiet, sharp, and intimidating inmate serving time for murder. The two slowly develop a bond based on wit, courage, and trust. The prison becomes their battleground, but also their classroom. While violence and silence rule inside the walls, Dean begins to find his own voice.

Fast forward 20 years - Dean is now a successful stand-up comedian. He makes people laugh for a living, but the pain and secrets from his past still linger. Meet the team behind Bad Boy

The creators, Ron Leshem, Hagar Ben Asher, and Daniel Chen, are the same team behind the original Israeli version of Euphoria, which was later adapted by HBO into a global hit. The series brings together a talented group of actors, including Daniel Chen (also a creator of the show), Guy Menaster, Havtamo Farda, Neta Plotnik, Liraz Chamami, Bat Hen Sabag, Yaniv Levy, Ben Sultan and Ishay Lalosh.

Before coming to Netflix, Bad Boy aired on Israeli network HOT and became a huge success. At the Israeli Television Academy Awards, the show swept up seven major awards, including Best Drama Series, Best Directing and Best Writing. It also had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2023, where it received glowing reviews for its storytelling and performances.
