Since Disney had great success with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Warner Bros. has been attempting to launch a DC Cinematic Universe for more than a decade. In response to audience questions on DC Films, David Zaslav said that Warner Bros. Discovery has a 10-year plan for the DC Universe's heroes and villains.
DC Makes Future Plans Inspired By The MCU
As reported by Collider, Zaslav said, "Our ambition is to bring Warners back and to produce great high-quality films, and as we look at the opportunities that we have broadly, DC is one of the tops of the list for us."
He further stated, "You look at Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman ¡ª these are brands that are known everywhere in the world. The ability to drive those worldwide with great stories is a big opportunity for us. We have done a reset. We've restructured the business. We're going to focus."
A team with a 10-year strategy specifically focusing on DC, he said, will be formed. It closely resembles the organisation that Alan Horn, Bob Iger, and Kevin Feige very successfully put together with Disney.
What Does DC Films' Future Hold?
A leader like Kevin Feige will probably be appointed to manage this project of creating a creative team to map out the next ten years of DC.
Zaslav will definitely conduct a careful investigation before selecting this leader since he wants to find someone to whom he can entrust the most valuable brand at Warner Bros.
If DC is able to offer a vast presentation that lays out a future after The Flash, Comic-Con 2023 might be the company's big break. The next DC movie, Black Adam, starring Dwayne Johnson, will be released on October 21.
Zaslav Explains Why Batgirl Was Put On Hold
No one will be able to watch 'Batgirl', an expensive blunder because the studio behind it has deemed the movie irredeemable due to its dismal test results. The new Warner Bros. CEO, Zaslav said, ¡°We¡¯re not going to release any film before it¡¯s ready. We¡¯re not going to release a film to make a quarter. The focus is going to be how do we make each of these films, in general, as good as possible?".
