Warner Bros Studio Shelves 'Batgirl' Movie, Declares It Irredeemable; The Internet Is Fuming

A 90-million-dollar film about Batgirl is reportedly being shelved. The same was confirmed by Warner Bros. and they said, ¡±The decision to not release Batgirl reflects our leadership¡¯s strategic shift as it relates to the DC universe and HBO Max.¡±
We believe this is the first time something similar has occurred, where a studio has shot the movie, it's in production and is ready for release but then the Audience will not be able to see Batgirl as the film gets shelved. This news is so shocking and heartbreaking for DC fans.
Leslie Grace, who portrays Barbara Gordon, aka the title character Batgirl, later posted on social media, the pictures and video from the DC project's set.
The filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah earlier in the day expressed their shock and sadness on Instagram, after learning that viewers won't be able to see the film.
In the classic 1960s television series, Yvonne Craig played the first Batgirl, and in the Batman and Robin movie from 1997, Alicia Silverstone played Batgirl. Michael Keaton, who was set to reprise his part from the 1989 Batman film, James Gordon would be played by J.K. Simmons once more, and Firefly, the bad guy, would be played by Brendan Fraser, so many big names were attached to the new Batgirl movie.
Now, fans are venting their outrage on social media. Also, the movie-buffs are curious as to what exactly was wrong with Batgirl that Hollywood couldn't fix through editing or alternative CGI. A sequel for Batgirl was also said to be in the works, but that has also been abandoned.
Here¡¯s How The Internet Is Reacting To Batgirl Being Scrapped:
Insanely disrespectful to everyone involved with Batgirl to not at least release it on HBO Max. https://t.co/zY6oLuA6Y0

WB: Batgirl¡¯s cancelled btw.
The fact that DC are willing to cancel Batgirl, a movie that's had ZERO production issues, just to supposedly save a bit of money, but haven't cancelled The Flash despite that movie's production being an utter nightmare and its main star being toxic... it's genuinely bizarre.

For the DCEU, Batgirl had been a long-standing project. The movie won't be shown in theatres or on the studio's streaming service, HBO Max.
According to a number of sources, Batgirl is rather in an unusual situation because it is highly budgeted for a television programme and it's a low budget for a film. Warner Bros. will now simply refer to "Batgirl" as a business loss because it would have cost the company much more money to effectively market the movie.
