Throughout the entire movie we see how Mira does not go along very well with her mother because of a difference of opinions. While she thinks she has hid her relationship with Sri well, her mom knows it all and understands that they are more than just friends. As the film comes to a close, we see a bunch of boys bullying Mira and running after her when she eventually locks herself in the Girls dorm room. As her mom comes to pick her up, she hurriedly sits on the scooter and goes home. When Sri comes to visit her, Mira is hit by a stark realisation that ¡®everything is not what it seems¡¯. She realises that Sri is manipulative and has only been nice to her mom so that the two of them can meet at their home. Mira has an epiphany as a result of this and chooses never to see Sri again.

The last scene, which is beautifully shot (and was apparently not scripted), shows Mira applying oil on her mother¡¯s head and then eventually breaking down into tears. The scene tells us how Mira, filled with regret, finally understands that her mom too has her own struggles and all of it indeed was just ¡®puppy love.¡¯

Girls Will Be Girls is a film that says the unsaid.It discusses a subject that many people shy away from. It focuses on how a growing adult explores their body, relationships, and other aspects of life. In addition to this, it provides adults and growing adults with direction on how to accept and cope with the reality. A sense of depth is maintained throughout the film thanks to its exquisite writing, direction and cinematography. The entire film is shot in deep and subtle tones, maintaining the whole intense yet calming idea. At last, Girls Will Be Girls is unmissable.
