Identity OTT release date: This Malayalam action thriller, released on January 2, 2025, starring Tovino Thomas, Trisha, and Vinay Rai, is set for its OTT debut. According to OTTPlay, Identity will start streaming on ZEE5 from January 31.

Identity plot

The story revolves around Haran, a sketch artist, and Alisha, a news presenter, who join forces to solve a murder.

They work together with a cop to track down the killer, using descriptions from an eyewitness with a photographic memory.

As the investigation unfolds, they uncover that a powerful figure is involved in the crime.

Directed by Anas Khan and Akhil Paul, the film stars Tovino Thomas as Haran Sankar and Trisha Krishnan as Alisha, marking their first collaboration together. The cast also includes Vinay Rai, among others.

Identity is written and directed by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, produced by Raju Malliath and Dr. Roy CJ, and distributed by Sree Gokulam Movies through Dream Big Films.

The key crew includes Akhil George as the Director of Photography, Chaman Chakko as the film editor, and Jakes Bejoy for the music and original score. Executive producers are Nitin Kumar and Pradeep Moolethara, with production design by Anees Nadodi.

Identity review

The Times of India mentioning that while the initial twists are interesting, the overwhelming number of twists ultimately hinder character development and create a disconnect with the audience.

The Indian Express criticised the film as "high on style but low on substance."

On the other hand, India Today rrecognised the film's engaging nature despite some predictable plot points.

News18 pointed out its engaging aspects but noted that it tries to do too much at once.

The film's box office performance fell short of expectations, with a total worldwide gross of Rs 18.5 crore, according to trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan.
