In the upcoming episode, filmmaker-host Karan Johar of Koffee With Karan (KWK) season 8 will be seen welcoming Kajol and Rani Mukerji, who both starred with Shah Rukh Khan in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
The sister duo, who reportedly once were not on good terms are expected to make a strong appearance on the controversial show.
Sharing the promo, Karan wrote in his Instagram caption, "We¡¯ve hit the (rewind emoji) button hard enough to bring my first leading ladies - Kajol and Rani back on the Koffee couch and it¡¯s nostalgia in the purest form!!!! (orange heart emojis)¡ Koffee With Karan season 8 - new episode streaming from 30th November on Disney+ Hotstar!"
What To Expect From Episode Featuring Rani Mukerji And Kajol
"I want to expose you," Rani stated to Karan Johar at the start of the most recent Koffee With Karan commercial. "Don't say such things," the director asked, and Kajol shot back, "I like this show already."
"You have snatched food from my hand, you've hit me," Rani was heard saying as she went on to recount all the atrocities Karan had done to her, apparently during the filming of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. "Such lies!" said Rani as Karan cut her off to clarify, "I didn't hit you." Speaking out, Kajol exclaimed, "Abuse, it was abuse!" In response, Karan said, "How b**chy!"
Following a number of Koffee rounds between the two guests, Kajol announced that she was "staging a walkout" because she had neglected to respond to several of Karan's inquiries, one of which concerned Rani's cameos in one of her movies.
Rani Mukerji And Kajol¡¯s Tiff
As per International Business Times, Rani experienced some really trying moments in the films because of Kajol. Some property disputes that had arisen between the two families throughout the years were the root of their strained relationship.
When Kajol, the late Yash Chopra's favorite heroine and the face of the Yash Raj label, was replaced with Rani Mukerji, the situation only became worse. After Aditya Chopra, the son of Yash Chopra, joined the team, Rani Mukerji became the new muse for YRF. Aditya Chopra was fascinated about Rani's acting prowess and utterly enamored with her.
Rani's casting opposite Kajol and Shahrukh in Karan Johar's first film, "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai," did not sit well with Kajol. In fact, she even put pressure on Karan to replace Rani with a different actress, but since Aditya Chopra had recommended Rani, Karan was forced to cast her.
Considering how they were foes till a few years ago, it will interesting to see them on the 'Kouch' together.
