Mountainhead, written and directed by Jesse Armstrong, known for creating the acclaimed series Succession, marks his debut in feature filmmaking.

Set against the backdrop of a global financial crisis, Mountainhead follows a group of billionaire friends who gather at a remote mountain retreat. As the world outside teeters on the brink, their personal dynamics leak, revealing sharp commentary on wealth, power, and human behaviour. The film combines elements of dark comedy and drama to explore timely themes with wit and insight.
Meet the cast of Mountainhead
Alongside Steve Carell and Jason Schwartzman, Mountainhead features performances by Cory Michael Smith, Ramy Youssef, Hadley Robinson, Andy Daly, Ali Kinkade, Daniel Oreskes, David W. Thompson, Amie MacKenzie and Ava Kostia among others.. Carell portrays Randall, a tech billionaire, while Schwartzman plays Hugo Van Yalk, a media mogul.
Filming took place in Park City, Utah, capturing the snowy setting that serves as the film's primary location. Armstrong collaborated with several of his Succession colleagues, including executive producers Frank Rich and Lucy Prebble, to bring Mountainhead to life. Hot Seat Productions, Project Zeus and HBO Films have jointly produced it with Marcel Zyskind as the DOP.
