Retro OTT release details: This highly anticipated Indian Tamil-language gangster drama, starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde, is set to hit theatres on May 1. Following its theatrical release, Retro will be available for streaming on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Retro plot
The story follows a reformed former gangster who, after promising his wife a life of peace, finds his troubled past resurfacing, jeopardising the calm he has fought so hard to maintain.
This highly anticipated romantic action film has captured everyone's attention, as it marks the debut collaboration between the mass hero and director Karthik Subbaraj, known for his work on Rajinikanth's Petta and Vikram's Mahaan.
The latest poster showcases Suriya in a fierce and intense avatar, preparing for a showdown. His look hints that Retro will be a high-octane thriller filled with gripping action sequences.
Retro cast and crew
Produced by Jyotika and Suriya, the film features a talented cast including Suriya, Pooja Hegde, Joju George, Jayaram, and Karunakaran.
The music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, while cinematography is handled by Shreyaas Krishna and editing by Shafique Mohamed Ali. The art direction is managed by Jacki and Mayapandi, with Praveen Raja in charge of costume design.
The action sequences are choreographed by Kecha Khamphakdee. Co-produced by Rajsekar Karpoorasundarapandian and Karthikeyan Santhanam, the film also boasts makeup by Vinoth Sukumaran and sound design by Suren.G and Alagiakoothan.
The choreography is done by Sherif.M, with Mohammed Subier handling the costumes and Dinesh.M capturing the stills. Publicity designs are by Tuney John, while Suresh Ravi is the colorist.
The production team is led by Chief Production Controller B. Senthil Kumar, with Ganesh.PS as the production executive and M. Ashok Narayanan as the executive producer. The direction team includes Srinivasan.E, Anand Purusoth, Bharath Muralidharan, Jagadish Babu, Mahes Balu, Sooraj Das, Muruganantham, Avinash R, Mohan Kumar R, Selvakumar, Praveen Giri, and Venkat Murugan.
