Somebody Feed Phil: Season 8 OTT Release Date - Phil Rosenthal¡¯s globetrotting food series is officially returning with a new edition, and fans won¡¯t have to wait long. The new season premieres on June 18, 2025, exclusively on Netflix.
Where Phil¡¯s heading this time?
In Somebody Feed Phil: Season 8, the Emmy-nominated TV host and Everybody Loves Raymond creator sets off once again to explore new places and plates. This season¡¯s travel list includes Amsterdam, Tbilisi, Sydney, Adelaide, Manila, Las Vegas, Guatemala, San Sebastian, and Boston. As always, each episode will feature local flavours, food vendors, restaurants, and conversations with locals all through Phil¡¯s humorous and heartfelt lens.
One of Netflix¡¯s longest-running unscripted shows
Launched in 2018, Somebody Feed Phil has become one of Netflix¡¯s most-loved and longest-running non-fiction series. Phil Rosenthal, now 65, brings warmth, humour, and real joy to each episode as he meets new people and tries their favourite dishes. The show has earned several recognitions over the years, including a 2022 Critics' Choice Real TV Award for Best Travel/Adventure Show, a 2024 nomination in the same category, and a James Beard Award nomination in the ¡°Visual Media - Long Form¡± category.
Phil¡¯s diner in LA: A tribute to his parents
Beyond the series, Rosenthal is bringing his love for food into the real world, too. This summer, he's launching a classic American diner in Los Angeles, named Max and Helen¡¯s, after his late parents. Max and Helen Rosenthal were fan favourites on earlier seasons of Somebody Feed Phil, known for their appearances during the show¡¯s video calls. The diner is a tribute to them and is expected to reflect their charm and traditional American tastes.
Phil isn¡¯t stopping with just the show. He¡¯s also set to release a new cookbook titled Phil¡¯s Favorites on November 4, featuring his personal collection of go-to recipes. In addition, he co-wrote a children¡¯s book with his daughter Lily called Just Try It: A Phil and Lil Book, encouraging kids to try new foods and experiences, very much in the spirit of his Netflix series.
Before becoming a food host, Rosenthal made his mark in television by creating the iconic sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. The show won 16 Emmy Awards during its nine-season run on CBS and is still considered one of the most successful American sitcoms.
