Vidaamuyarchi OTT Release Date: Ajith Kumar and Trisha Krishnan¡¯s latest cinematic outing is finally ready for its digital debut. Released worldwide on 6th February 2025, the Tamil thriller despite opening to highly positive reviews in theatres is gearing up to make its OTT premiere within a month only. Vidaamuyarchi will be streaming on Netflix from March 3 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The film has a runtime of 150 minutes.

2. Vidaamuyarchi¡¯s cast and crew

Written and directed by Magizh Thirumeni, Vidaamuyarchi is inspired by the 1997 American film Breakdown. It is produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under Lyca Productions and also stars Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, Arav, Nikhil Sajith, Dasarathi, Ganesh Saravanan, Ravi Raghavendra, Jeeva Ravi, Ramya Subramanian, Vidadi Hasanov and Kazim Abdullayev among others.

In its 18-day long run so far, Vidaamuyarchi has earned a total of Rs 135.65 crore worldwide with a domestic net of Rs 80.35 crore. While the Tamil belt contributed a total of Rs 78.35 crore, the Telugu belt brought home Rs 2 crore. Vidaamuyarchi¡¯s overseas gross is currently Rs 40.15 crore. The film is estimated to close its lifetime at about Rs 150 crore.

4. Vidaamuyarchi¡¯s plot summary

Vidaamuyarchi tells the story of Arjun (Ajith) and Kayal (Trisha), a couple whose road trip spirals into a nightmare when Kayal is abducted by unknown assailants. With time running out, Arjun must urgently rescue her. As the story progresses, flashbacks reveal the couple's past and how their love has evolved over the years. Along the way, they encounter Rakshith (Arjun), Deepika (Regena), and Michael (Arav), whose presence brings danger and thrusts Arjun into a high-stakes pursuit to uncover the truth.

The Times of India rated the film 2.5 out of 5 and a part of their review read, ¡°The film doesn¡¯t give the usual euphoria Ajith fans expect from their hero, but offers some enjoyable moments in the last one hour. Vidaamuyarchi might find its space with some niche audience, but a racy screenplay, especially considering the genre and a little more emotional depth, could have made the film dearer to all.¡±
