'We Got Saved', Says Aamir Khan On His Film Laal Singh Chaddha Averting Clash With Yash's KGF 2
Aamir Khan says he's glad that his film Laal Singh Chaddha didn't clash with south star Yash's blockbuster film KGF Chapter 2.
Actor-producer Aamir Khan's upcoming film 'Laal Singh Chaddha' has grabbed much attention ever since its inception. The film is an official remake of Hollywood's one of most popular flicks 'Forrest Gump' starring Tom Hanks in the lead role.
The Hindi remake stars Kareena Kapoor, Mona Singh, and Naga Chaitanya apart from Aamir Khan reprising Hollywood star Tom Hanks' role.
Ahead of the film's release on August 11, 2022, a special event was organised in Hyderabad on Sunday during which Aamir Khan spoke about the averted clash and said that he's glad his film got ¡°saved¡±.
South star Yash's movie became a blockbuster as it minted over Rs 1,000 crore worldwide. Aamir Khan said that he's glad that his movie Laal Singh Chaddha was postponed and averted clash with the Kannada action drama KGF 2 had it arrived as per previous schedule.
Talking about his film, Aamir Khan told IE, ¡°I remember when KGF 2 was about to release, there was a lot of excitement among the Hindi audience, amongst my own friends.¡±
¡°Laal Singh Chaddha was supposed to release on that day. But fortunately for us, Red Chillies was taking a little time on the VFX so we got saved! Otherwise, we would have come with KGF 2,¡± the PK actor said.
While it did avert a clash with Yash's KGF2, Aamir Khan's movie could not avert a clash with Akshay Kumar's upcoming film Raksha Bandhan, which also releases on August 11, 2022. Raksha Bandhan is an upcoming comedy-drama directed by Aanand L. Rai.
In an earlier interview Akshay Kumar was questioned about Raksha Bandhan clashing with Laal Singh Chaddha, to which the 54-year-old actor responded saying, "It's not a clash. It's about good movies coming together. And, it's a big day. Due to Covid-19, many films did not release and some are still waiting to get a release date. So, it's natural more films will release together. I hope both films have good run."
