15 Years Of Welcome: Anil Kapoor Says ¡®Majnu Bhai Picked Up The Paintbrush And Rest Is History¡¯
Anil Kapoor who played the role of 'Majnu' and is remembered for the same to date took to Twitter and shared a few words on the film's 15th anniversary.
The evergreen comical saga Welcome (2007) completes 15 years of laughter and memories today. A film that is watched on repeat to date by millions of people became even more popular because of an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and more actors.

As the film clocks its 15th anniversary, Anil Kapoor who played ¡®Majnu¡¯ in the film remembered ¡®Welcome¡¯ with a heartfelt note.
Anil Kapoor in one of the scenes painted a dog standing on top of a donkey in the film and that still makes us laugh every time we watch it. His character was written on the frame of veterans like Feroz Khan, Ranjeet and Paresh Rawal. Writing ¡®Thanks for giving #Welcome & Majnu Bhai so much love!¡¯, Anil expressed his views.

Produced by Firoz Nadiadwala who is looking forward to the film¡¯s next part, Welcome was directed by Anees Bazmee. On a budget of 32 crores, the film had grossed over 117 crores back then. Film songs including Malaika Arora starrer Hoth Rasiley are still registered in viewers¡¯ minds.

The film had a sequel in 2015 named Welcome Back that also grossed close to 170 crores on a mere budget of 88 crores.
Where Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal had returned for the sequel, Welcome Back was joined by John Abraham, Shruti Hasan, Shiney Ahuja, Dimple Kapadia and Naseeruddin Shah. The third part of the franchise is already in talks and reports have suggested that producer Firoz is not in the mood to bring back Akshay Kumar. This news comes after the ongoing ¡®Hera Pheri 3¡¯ furore.
On the work front, Anil was last seen in JugJugg Jeeyo, which also had Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani among others. He is currently busy filming Animal which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in lead. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, this crime drama will release on August 11 next year. Anil also has a pivotal role in Siddharth Anand's Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone.
