Soon after this video went viral, a few Reddit users reminded the actor of his big win for Hum Tum.
For the unversed, Saif won the National Film Award for Best Actor in 2004 for Kunal Kohli's directorial Hum Tum. Where everyone was expecting Shah Ruk Khan to win that award for Swades, it was alleged that because Sharmila Tagore was on the jury¡¯s panel, Saif landed the most prestigious award.
The video was shared on Reddit with the caption, ¡°I didn't get more chances coz of my mom, I worked hard and slowly improved: Saif talking about his early Bollywood journey.¡± Amid all hilarious reactions, a user quoted, ¡°He talks as if he has unconventional looks like Hrithik. Hrithik doesn¡¯t go about saying ¡°I¡¯m exotic European¡± but this man is delusional.¡±

Hum Tum also starred Rani Mukherjii and was the sixth highest-grossing film of 2004. The film won 5 awards among 8 nominations at the Filmfare awards.
Saif¡¯s mother veteran actress Sharmila Tagore is all set to return to showbiz after a long hiatus. She¡¯ll be soon seen in Gulmohar which also stars Manoj Bajpayee. While promoting the film, Sharmila recently opened up on what drove her to choose films back in the 70s and 80s.
She told India Today, ¡°Well, we as professionals, sometimes we sign a film for money, just to pay the rent. Sometimes we help a colleague or somebody who thinks if I'm in the project, the project will do well. So I've made films for many reasons. And I think, overall, I've done it because I liked the script and, at that point in time, that it was necessary. But at this point of time, where I am today, Kusum was necessary.¡±
On the work front, Saif was last seen in films like Vikram Vedha, Bhoot Police and Bunty Aur Babli 2. He is awaiting the release of Om Raut¡¯s Adipurush which also stars Kriti Sanon and Prabhas. The film will reportedly hit theatres on 16th June 2023.
