Pathaan Row: Bihar¡¯s BJP Leader Haribhushan Threatens To Halt The Release Of Film In His State
Amidst the Pathaan controversy, BJP leader Haribhushan Thakur has threatened the release of this SRK-Deepika starrer in Bihar.
From Bombay to Bihar, the boycott is at par. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Pathaan film¡¯s first track has woken the dead. Amidst all the political drama around the song Besharam Rang, another BJP leader has decided to hold protests with his party members outside theatres and halt the film¡¯s release.

Saying that the ¡®short dress¡¯ of Deepika shows vulgarity, BJP¡¯s Hari Bhushan Thakur is in no mood to entertain Pathaan.
"It was a dirty effort by the makers of the film to weaken the 'Sanatan' culture of the country. The saffron colour is a symbol of 'Sanatan' culture. The sun is of saffron colour and the colour of fire is also saffron. It is a symbol of sacrifice. The film's makers have described saffron as a 'Besharam' (shameless) colour, which is extremely unfortunate and objectionable.¡±
¡°The short dress of the heroine is a show of vulgarity. This is the reason why majority of the countrymen are demanding to boycott the film. We will not allow the movie to be released in theatres in Bihar. The BJP workers will protest at all the cinema halls," he added.

Amidst the boycott row, the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha units in Agra and Mathura have warned the theatre owners of any damage to property if they screen Pathaan.
Sanjay Jat, an ABHM spokesperson said, ¡°The use of ¡®bhagwa¡¯ colour (saffron), considered sacred by Hindus, in a such indecent manner in the song of the movie has hurt our religious sentiments. We are pained by the Censor Board allowing such scenes and thus will not allow the screening of ¡®Pathaan¡¯ at any theatre when it is released. We pasted a ¡®written ultimatum¡¯ at the cinema hall warning the owners that they will be responsible for any damage to their property if they screen the movie.¡±
The Besharam Rang controversy echoed in Lok Sabha where BSP MP Kunwar Danish Ali slammed those demanding a boycott.
He said, ¡°It is a new trend, those in the government are demanding that the film be banned... Someone from the Ulema board also said the Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone film should be banned. The job of banning movies should be left to the censor board. There are many artists among our members. Sanatan Dharma is not so weak that it would be in danger due to someone wearing a colour... Nor is Islam so weak that a movie may hurt it. Such threats should not be made.¡±
