Deva box office collection day 8: Shahid Kapoor's film fails to hold its own against Badass Ravi Kumar, earns just Rs 80 lakh

Deva box office collection day 8: Deva, which hit the screens on January 31, opened to a decent response at the box office and collected Rs 5.5 crore (nett) on the first day. It then witnessed some growth over the weekend but eventually crashed on the weekdays. It continued its run on Friday, February 7. Deva is an action thriller, starring Shahid Kapoor.

Deva earns less than Rs 1 crore on Day 8

Shahid Kapoor is in the limelight because of his latest film Deva. The film, which arrived in theatres on January 31. It struggled to survive at the box office on February 7 as it faced competition from Badass Ravi Kumar, this week's new release. According to Sacnilk, a trade website, Deva earned just Rs 80 lakh on its eighth day. This is 57% lower than the Rs 1.85 crore it made on February 6.

Day 1: Rs 5.5 crore

Day 2: Rs 6.4 crore

Day 3: Rs 7.25 crore

Day 4: Rs 2.75 crore

Day 5: Rs 2.4 crore

Day 6: Rs 2.25 crore

Day 7: Rs 1.85 crore

Day 8: Rs 80 lakh

The film's total stands at nearly Rs 30 crore. Deva needs to witness considerable growth over the weekend to have any chance of becoming a hit. This, however, is easier said than done as Himesh Reshammiya's film has received a positive response from the masses. It earned over Rs 3 crore on the first day and, going by the initial trends, is set to witness a good jump today.
