Good News For SSR Fans! Actor's Film 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' To Hit Theatres Once Again

'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' is about the life of one of India's most celebrated cricketers Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the film was released in 2016 and featured the late Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role. It was one of late Sushant's career-defining films.

Now, if reports are to be believed, the film 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' is set to have an exclusive re-release in cinemas in India on May 12, 2023, in Hindi and other regional languages such as Tamil and Telugu.

According to Bikram Duggal, the Head of Studios at Disney Star, "MS Dhoni: The Untold Story" is not only a special film for Star Studios but also for Indians worldwide. He said that the re-release aims to give fans across the country another chance to relive cricket's most magical moments on the big screen.

When Dhoni Lost His Cool On SSR

Cricketer Dhoni had once revealed how he lost his cool at Sushant when the actor was preparing for the film.

"He (Sushant) used to ask one question repeatedly and if he gets a similar answer then he used to believe that I am being honest and then he used to go to the next question," Dhini was quoted saying.

Dhoni also expressed that it was awkward to speak about himself initially.

"After 15 mins you get bored talking about yourself and I was like I need a break, I am going," Indian cricketer Dhoni said during a press conference of the hit film years ago.

The biopic became Sushant's biggest hit and he also won several nominations in the 'Best Actor' category at that year's awards events for his outstanding performance in the biopic movie.

However, Sushant didn't live long to pursue his career further in Bollywood. The actor was found dead on June 14, 2020 in his Mumbai apartment.

Dhoni and Neeraj Pandey was "shattered" by the news of the actor's sudden demise.

"Apart from calling Mahi bhai, I have also called two of his best friends Mihir Diwakar and Arun Pandey. They all seemed very upset with such a terrible news. Mahi bhai was in a shock to hear the news and got shattered," Neeraj was quoted as saying to xtratime.in.

Kiara Advani, Disha Patani played Sushant's love interests in the film. Anupam Kher and Bhumika Chawla also featured in crucial roles.
