Unprofessional? Me? Never, Says Irrfan

Irrfan Khan was recently lambasted by producer Vashu Bhagnani for leaving the 'Welcome To Karachi' crew stranded in London, when he refused to fly to the UK at the nth hour.
The disgruntled producer had told Mumbai Mirror, "I could wait for him for a couple of days but he can't expect me to wait for a month in London. Imagine the kind of money I am losing because of Irrfan's sudden decision?"
However, the actor has hit back, refuting all claims of unprofessional-ism and maintaining that he had amicably parted ways with the producer owing to creative differences - or so he had thought.
A source close to the actor said, "The producers were informed well in advance about Irrfan not being part of the film."
Irrfan himself had this to say, "Why would I do something of this sort to a producer? I had been involved in Welcome to Karachi right from the scripting stage since a year and a half when there were no producers. When Vashu-ji came on board as the producer, he wanted to start immediately, but I felt we were underprepared. I suggested we delay the shoot to plan things as it's a character-based film and needs good actors, who can get the Karachi accent right. I didn't think we were ready with the climax either. But they were impatient to go ahead with the shoot." To which the producer reportedly said, ¡°I am okay if you do or don't do the film.¡±
"This attitude was the exact thing which prompted me to walk away from the project. Later, I even agreed to do a cameo in the film. I even returned the money I had received from him for the shoot," added the actor.
The actor also added that he had been informed about the mahurat shot at the very last minute and the producers pleaded him to come for the same. The actor had cancelled his prior commitments to attend the mahurat shot and is now disturbed by allegations of unprofessional-ism.
We predict that this Tu Tu, Main Main battle between the actor and the producer isn't going to die down in a hurry.
