"Meri awaaz hi meri pehchaan hai..."
A glorious journey of over eight decades comes to an end.
Mangeshkar, 92, who died on Sunday in a Mumbai hospital, didn't just sing songs in Hindi but almost every other Indian language. Her chameleon-like quality as a singer made her the perfect choice for actresses of all decades, resulting in her lending voice as a playback singer from Madhubala to Preity Zinta.
She may have departed from this world, but her magic in the form of her songs will linger on.
