Remember 'Karishma' from Karishma
Kaa Karishma or 'Jia' from Kal Ho Na Ho? The little girl is all grown up and has been missing from the limelight. Many who watched Jhanak Shukla as a child artist, were sure that she will turn to acting full time once she grows up and become a big name. But nothing of that sorts happened. Instead Shukla aspired to live a peaceful life and be happy.
Indiatimes got in touch with Jhanak Shukla and she spoke her heart out with us.
To begin with, we asked Jhanak how is her life after seeing all the popularity, to which she said,
¡°Honestly speaking, I left the industry at the age of 8. My last show was Karishma Ka Karishma. That time I was small and I used to think that I wanted to become an actor only.¡±
She further added, ¡°I never expected a break or anything, it didn¡¯t matter to me, because I was inclined towards studies, especially the subject history. So, I focused on archaeology studies. I never wanted to make acting as my profession as such, but I do like acting.¡±
We also quizzed Jhanak about the work she revealed that she is getting in one of her recent interviews, to which she said,
¡°Yes that¡¯s true, I am not earning, but I did mention that I am studying. I still get opportunities, but I am studying. I was supposed to go abroad for my further studies, due to pandemic I am stuck here. So right now, I am doing management studies with NIMS. I am not focusing on earning aspect. I don¡¯t want to pursue acting now.¡±
Having said that she even admitted that if ever she gets a good role she will do it, ¡°I would love to do a role which is profound and different.¡±
We asked Jhanak didn¡¯t she ever thought of utilising her popularity and making it big in the industry, to which she replied,
¡°No actually, because after I grew up I realised that I am not very passionate towards acting. My mother is an actor, she is very hardworking. I see her always on her toes 24/7, the kind of dedication and potential that acting needs is tough, so I don¡¯t think I can make it a 24/7 career for myself. You need passion for acting and I am not passionate which I discovered right now.¡±
When asked what her plan for future is, she said,
¡°I see myself living in a very quiet place. Working in a museum or just being a travel blogger. You will probably see me married, enjoying life, chilling and working of course. I believe in living a happy life.¡±
Isn¡¯t that quite impressive? The little girl is indeed all grown up and chose her happiness over the glitz and glamour.
