'Representation Matters': Plus-Size Influencer Grooves To 'Besharam Rang', Internet Is All Praises

Body-positivity influencer Tanvi Geetha Ravishankar stunned her fans with a new video of her dancing to the hit song without holding back.

Tanvi (@theChubbyTwirler) is wearing a purple bikini and a blue sarong in the video, a style that is very similar to Deepika's in the music video.

She then performs flawlessly on 'Besharam Rang', making it look incredibly effortless.

The video was shared along with a caption that read,

"Be Besharam. If doing what you love, wearing what you like, and living the life you want to make you "Besharam" in someone¡¯s eyes, it¡¯s absolutely fine. We¡¯re entering 2023, and the world is gonna get nothing less than our UNAPOLOGETIC SELF."

Tanvi's video has been praised for her self-confidence and for promoting body positivity.

Besharam Rang, written by Vishal and Shekhar, was sung by Shilpa Rao. Over 163 million people have seen it on YouTube.

"Pathaan" found itself battling controversy and calls for a ban after the release of its song "Besharam Rang", also featuring Deepika Padukone, on December 12. A sequence in the song showing Deepika in a saffron bikini led to protests across India for allegedly hurting "Hindu sentiments".

"The film recently reached the CBFC examination committee for certification. The film went through the due and thorough examination process as per the CBFC guidelines.

"The committee has guided the makers to implement the advised changes in the film, including the songs, and submit the revised version before theatrical release," Joshi said in a statement to PTI.
