Fans discourage unhealthy practices
The photo has kickstarted a debate on social media. While many praised the actor's dedication, kist like Vinayak Damodar Savarkar's grandson, Ranjit Savarkar, who said, "I had discussions with Randeep Hooda several times. He has made this film with so much effort, he reduced 30 kg weight," to ANI, several others said, "Encouraging unhealthy practices like this. Is that valid? One needs to stop with these. This doesn't necessarily guarantee good acting. One act good without doing stuff like this as well."
Adding to discussion a fan pointed out that a medical team must have been working along with Randeep Hooda and said, "You can get inspired by someone while at the same time recognizing that they probably had a medical team on board, or that you don't want to do exactly what they did. You just admire their determination and spirit." Another one argued that this still doesn't ensure good acting and hence the practice of losing weight shouldn't be promoted. "An actor can choose how deeply he wants to play the role. Its his or her choice. It doesnt guarentee better acting, it just delivers a more realistic experience?"
Some others said that often actors give their 100 percent but if the script it weak, their efforts go in vain. Taking Christian Bale's example, this user explained, "I didn¡¯t like it when Christian Bale did it, I thought it was weird af. Like I get it, it¡¯s for the sake of realism but then the writers take so many liberties with the script so like, why care about realism if you¡¯re going to not be purist when it comes to the story? If it¡¯s a realistic documentary type movie then I can still understand, but if it¡¯s not and you¡¯re taking liberties then idk this dedication to realism is weird to me."
Responding to this a user said, "Christian bale kare to dedication, Randeep Hooda kare to unhealthy practice."
Well, this isn't the first time that Randeep Hooda has left everyone shocked with his transformation. Before losing 30kgs for Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, the Bollywood actor lost 18 kgs in 28 days for Sarbjit.
