Randeep Hooda Trolled For Claiming Veer Savarkar Inspired Subhash Chandra Bose And Bhagat Singh
The trailer of Swatantrya Veer Savarkar has drew flak. Randeep Hooda gets trolled for distorting history and saying that Savarkar inspired Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose and Khudiram Bose.
Ever since the first teaser of Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, a film based on the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, popularly known as Veer Savarkar, has been released, it has caused an uproar on social media.
In the one-minute 14-second teaser, Randeep Hooda who essays the titular role makes some controversial claims.
Hooda who has also directed the movie says, "The freedom struggle lasted for 90 years. And this battle was fought by a few people, the rest were hungry for power.
Gandhiji was not bad, but if he had not stuck to his non-violent thinking, India would have been free 35 years ago."
The teaser also claims that Veer Savarkar was "the most feared revolutionary" and furthermore describes him as "the man who inspired Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose and Khudiram Bose."

"What Nonsense! Why are you changing the reality of history for earning money. Have you gone mad @RandeepHooda ? Writing mercy petitions, taking pensions from & acting khabri to the Britishers & getting the freedom fighters arrested was Savarkar¡¯s business. Study some facts," read another tweet.
Most wanted Indian by British! - the man was literally inside a British jail writing letters to them that he is ready to lick boots. ??? https://t.co/OoCqix0cpq

"Inspiration behind the first terrorist of India - Godse. Why don't you add that to the list? No shame?"
"The trailer of this propaganda movie says that, "If it hadn't been for Gandhi, India would have got freedom 35 years before." 35 years before 1947 is 1912 and Gandhi came to India, from South Africa, in 1915. These idiots are making movies," reads another tweet.

"Clearly, this movie will be a disaster, we are sure he didn't inspire all the freedom fighters you listed. ? yes, he was most wanted by the British, who else would work for the British."
There is no historic evidence of the Anushilan Samiti ever coordinating with Savarkar.

Khudiram died in 1908 while Savarkar left India in 1906 for England.
Netaji opposed Hindu Mahasabha throughout his life.
Bhagat Singh was inspired by Kartar Singh Sarabha and Sardar Ajit Singh. https://t.co/2nRLFL0cw8
"18-year-old Khudiram Bose was martyred in 1908. And Savarkar was in London from 1906 to 1911. Netaji Bose repeatedly criticized Savarkar & Hindu Mahasabha. Savarkar also didn¡¯t utter a word about Bhagat Singh¡¯s hanging while Nehru and Bose tried their best to save him."
1) Khudiram was killed by the British in 1908. Savarkar's book on 1857 was published only in 1909 !

"Please don¡¯t spread fake news. Bhagat Singh threw a bomb in the assembly and kept sitting, refusing to flee. Savarkar begged the British for mercy."
