¡®Only SRK Can Do This¡¯, Fans React As Maratha Mandir Screens Pathaan And DDLJ At The Same Time

Pathaan is unstoppable! The Shah Rukh Khan starrer has minted over 300 crores globally within just three days of its release and is not slowing down anytime soon. SRK and Mumbai¡¯s popular theatre Maratha Mandir have an age-old special bond to share. It dates back to 1995 when SRK¡¯s film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaenge was released.

Maratha Mandir since then till date has been screening shows of that film without any hindrance. Something which is very unique and rare in the cinema business.

Recently, after Pathaan was released, Maratha Mandir put up the film¡¯s poster just beside DDLJ¡¯s poster and that left fans emotional. Sharing the poster, SRK¡¯s manager Pooja Dadlani wrote on Instagram, ¡°Between these two pictures.. all of us have had a journey to cherish. @iamsrk¡¯s journey¡­ And just in case you don¡¯t get tickets for Pathaan¡­ you know what to watch!!¡±

Pathaan director Sidharth Anand who saw his biggest opening collection with this film shared after the film¡¯s success that ¡®numbers do matter¡¯ for him.

He said, ¡°Scripting history. Everyone wants it, but one can't plan it. It just happens. And when it does, it¡¯s actually a very humbling experience. I¡¯m feeling incredibly overwhelmed right now and inspired to get back on the film set and try and create something really special for audiences again. That¡¯s my state of mind.¡±

¡°I¡¯m hungrier than before to create more spectacles and immersive experiences like Pathaan. For me, yes numbers do matter. It is a validation of all the hard work but film-making is also a team game. So, I share this incredible moment with the entire cast and crew of Pathaan. Each one of us believed in a vision to create a never seen before theatrical experience that cuts across the length and breadth of the country and I¡¯m glad we delivered on this promise," he further added.

Siddharth further in his statement said that Pathaan¡¯s success is India¡¯s victory.

Anand said, ¡°If it connects with people, it can really go to dizzying heights and that¡¯s what¡¯s happening with Pathaan. Today is a victory of Indian cinema because we are all Indians first. It is such an exciting phase for our country that films from across India are making records, breaking records and most importantly entertaining the people of our country globally.¡±
