Veteran actor Manoj Kumar, best known for patriotic films such as Kranti and Purab Aur Paschim, is no more. The legend passed away on April 4 in Mumbai due to heart-related ailments and liver cirrhosis. Manoj Kumar was 87.

Manoj Kumar, one of Bollywood's most celebrated names, has passed away at the age of 87. ¡®Bharat Kumar¡¯, as he was fondly referred to by fans because of his patriotic films, died at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on April 4. He had been unwell for a while.
Kunal Goswami, Manoj¡¯s son, confirmed the news and added that his last rites will be held on April 5.

His son, Kunal Goswami, says, "...He has had health-related issues for a long time. It's the grace of the god that he bid adieu to this world peacefully.¡ pic.twitter.com/ElDsttocMM
"It's the grace of the god that he bid adieu to this world peacefully. His cremation will take place tomorrow,¡± added the actor.
He was a National Award winner and had also bagged Filmfare Awards on seven occasions.

Manoj Kumar was born as Harikrishnan Giri Goswami in 1937 in Abbottabad. The small town is now Pakistan. His family moved to Delhi during the partition. Manoj Kumar began his journey as an actor with Fashion (1957). It was, however, Kanch Ki Gudiya that established him as a force to reckon with. His best-known films include Roti Kapda Makaan, Purab Aur Paschim, and Kranti. He also directed these films.
