Legendary Industrialist Ratan Tata has left for his heavenly abode and the entire world is in shock. The pioneer businessman breathed his last on Wednesday (October 9th). Many don¡¯t know but Mr Tata has also produced a film titled Aetbaar which was his first and last association at the bankrolling front.
Known for transforming the Tata Group into a globally known conglomerate, Ratan Tata took the producer¡¯s seat in 2004 when he co-produced Aetbaar with Jatin Kumar, Khushroo Bhadha, and Mandeep Singh. This romantic psychological thriller was directed by Vikram Bhatt and headlined by Amitabh Bachchan.
Aetbaar was inspired by the 1996 Hollywood film Fear and also starred John Abraham, Bipasha Basu, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Ali Asgar, and Amardeep Jha among others. The movie follows the story of Dr Ranveer Malhotra (played by Big B), who happens to be a protective father going beyond limits to protect his daughter, Ria (Bipasha), from Aryan Trivedi (John) who was an obsessive lover.
Unfortunately, Aetbaar was released and tanked at the box office. It managed to gross only Rs 7.96 crore on a budget of Rs 9.50 crore. This was the only film produced by Ratan Tata in his entire career.
Coming back to Mr Ratan Tata¡¯s heartbreaking passing away, then a state mourning was announced in Maharashtra on October 10. The legend's mortal remains are being kept at South Mumbai¡¯s National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) from 10 am to 4 pm today for people who want to pay their respects.
Mr Tata¡¯s last rites will be performed in Mumbai¡¯s Worli later in the day.
