Ranveer Singh took to Instagram to pay a heartfelt tribute to the legendary musician. The actor shared a poignant photo of Ustad Zakir Hussain, accompanied by a heart, evil eye, and folded hands emoticons.
Veteran actor Kamal Haasan took to X to pay a heartfelt tribute to the late tabla maestro. His poignant message read: "Zakir Bhai ! He left too soon. Yet we are grateful for the times he gave us and what he left behind in the form of his art. Goodbye and Thank you."

Zakir Hussain's family shares statement
In an official statement to NPR, the family of the legendary tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain revealed that he passed away on Sunday in San Francisco due to complications from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
"His prolific work as a teacher, mentor, and educator has left an indelible mark on countless musicians. He hoped to inspire the next generation to go further. He leaves behind an unparalleled legacy as a cultural ambassador and one of the greatest musicians of all time," his family told NPR.
He is survived by his loving family, including his wife Antonia Minnecola, daughters Anisa and Isabella Qureshi, brothers Taufiq and Fazal Qureshi, and sister Khurshid Aulia.
