Zeenat Aman Makes Meme On Herself As She Shares A Throwback Photo From 'Satyam Shivam Sundaram'
Zeenat Aman shared a throwback photo of her from 1978 movie Satyam Shivam Sundaram. Here's how Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra, Sanya Malhotra and Rhea Kapoor reacted.
Forty-five years ago, Zeenam Aman's essayed a sensual and bold character Rupa in 1978 movie Satyam Shivam Sundaram, which not only raised a lot of eyebrows but also gave rise to controversies. It was accused of obscenity.
Zeenat, who disagreed with this and says that being sensual was a part of her character not the crux of the plot and she didn't find anything obscene in it, recently shared a throwback photo of her from the film and memed her own self.
"It¡¯s hot, hot, hot. Take a cue from Rupa... here¡¯s one way to beat the heat! Any other suggestions?", she wrote in the caption.
While Karan Johar, Sanya Malhotra and Rhea Kapoor dropped fire emojis on the 71-year-old actress' photo, designer Manish Malhotra wrote, "You looked stunning in the film in the Rustic look and I love the music of the film."
Sanjay Kapoor said, "Chimpu and me saw SSS 20 times at RK , Still remember Raj uncle had put your pictures in Loni of your look test which were stunning."
Even fans are lauding her.
One of her followers wrote, "Imagine a girl whose entire image was westernised, she could pull off a Rupa so brilliantly. And let me say this - seductively too. The songs only accentuated your beauty and of course, playing a village belle with a distorted face at the height of your career was more of a risk which you took head on. So kudos to your choice???? I do remember reading one of your old interviews where you had mentioned as how you went all prepared for Rupa¡¯s character to Raj Kapoor and he finally did cast you for the role. Such lovely anecdotes from that era."
"Masterful performance!" said another one and added, "There was so much to love about your rendition of Rupa.. the innocence, vulnerability, her passion, raw sexuality, longing for love, sacrifices... it's incredible how much you conveyed with just one character! Of course, the legendary Raj Kapoor sir was the guiding force behind you.. but, no one could've pulled off Rupa other than you.. no one."
Known for playing unconventional roles, Zeenam Aman broke several stereotypes and carved her own path in the industry.
