Govinda was one of a kind hero back in the 90s. Despite the fact that he didn¡¯t sport a six-pack physique, he was wildly successful. Fondly called Chi Chi Bhaiya, Govinda now has no film offers and he has often talked about how the industry turned their back towards him.
He made headlines again after he gave a candid interview and apparently spilled all the beans about the industry. It came as a shock to many after he revealed that Hollywood¡¯s ace director James Cameron offered him Avatar. He furthermore claimed that he rejected the offer because he was against body paint. However, he suggested the title of the movie to Cameron and also predicted that Avatar will be a huge success.

Not only Avatar, Govinda says he rejected Sanjay Leela Bhansali¡¯s superhit film Devdas that starred Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit in prominent roles.
Govinda says he was offered the role of Chunni Lal, played by Jackie Shroff. However, he refused the offer. Why? Because he was a superstar back then, and a superstar doesn¡¯t do character roles.

"I asked Sanjay aapko mere mein Chunni Lal kaha dikhta hai? I was a superstar at that time. Mujhe laga theek hai, aap top ke director ho, achchhi baat hai, par aap mujhe character role kyu de rahe hai. Maine kaha ek kaam karna, Shah Rukh se kaho ki woh mujhe kahe. I can do the film for friendship but I won't do it otherwise. I won't do the film because you are a star or a top director. I love Shah Rukh a lot. We haven't done a film together but he is a very nice person,¡± he was quoted as saying by India TV.
Furthermore, Govinda spilled the beans about his fallout with David Dhawan. He said he did 17 films with him. Even his son Varun Dhawan wouldn¡¯t do that.
¡°I do not think his son will ever do 17 films with him, because he is, after all, David Dhawan's son. He is educated. I never realised the meaning of doing 17 films with a director. It was Sanjay Dutt who told me to give work to a fellow Punjabi (David Dhawan). I used to give work to fellow Punjabis at that time. I liked David and did many hit films with him. I did not even treat my relatives as well as I treated him. Even with my brother, who is a director, I did not do 17 films,¡± he said.
Meanwhile, Govinda is getting trolled on social media.
