After Backlash Over His Own Film, Om Raut Is Looking Forward To Watch Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana
Amid severe backlash over Adipurush, Om Raut is looking forward to watch Nitesh Tiwari's three-part Ramayana which will star Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor as Sita and Lord Ram.
A lot of people aimed to convert mythological epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata into big-screen experiences. It's tricky to make such films. Aamir Khan once said that he is scared to make the cinematic adaptation of Mahabharat.
All eyes were glued to the release of Adipurush. However, after the film hit the cinema screens, it received massive criticism and became a target of trolls.
Now, fans including Adipurush director Om Raut himself are looking forward to watch Nitesh Tiwari's 3-part Ramyana, which will reportedly star Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Alia Bhatt as Sita.
In an interview with India Today, he said, "Nitesh is a great director and a good friend of mine. I have seen his work. I have seen Dangal. It's one of the finest films that our nation has made. Everything about the film - Aamir (Khan) sir, actors, Nitesh sir's writings and his direction - I think that's phenomenal. I am looking forward to the film like every Ram bhakt."
He added, "As many films we make on Ramayana, Prabhu Shri Ram, and everything on Rama, I think we will all root for that film or any other film that anybody is making. It's very important for us, it's the greatest history of our country, it's very important. We have to tell it as many times as we can, and as many people as possible should see the film."
The shooting of Nitesh Tiwar's Ramayan will reportedly begin by the end of the year. The film will be made on a massive scale. Nitesh Tiwari is teaming up with Namit Malhotra for the project. For the unversed, Namit Malhotra's VFX company has previously worked on Hollywood films like Dune and Tenet and Bollywood film Brahmastra.
Producer Madhu Mantena who recently got married had earlier told Pinkvilla, "We need to show the world what Ramayana is and it needs to portray all the magic that Valmiki wrote. This isn¡¯t a project, it¡¯s a purpose, a purpose to tell Ramayana in all its glory to the world.
