Filmmaker Ali Akbar Converts To Hinduism After His Followers Celebrate CDS Bipin Rawat's Death
Malayalam filmmaker Ali Akbar has quit Islam and converted to Hinduism renaming his name to Ramasimhan after his followers celebrated Bipin Rawat's death.
Winner of Kerala State Film Award for Best Debut Director in the year 1988, filmmaker Ali Akbar who has directed more than 20 films, has announced that he is quitting Islam and converting to Hinduism.
The director took this step after discussing with his wife, who too is converting to Hinduism. As he said, "They have lost faith in religion."
Akbar, who was the state committee member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and had quit the post in October following some disagreement, revealed the same in a video posted on his social media. He expressed his contempt to those reacting with smiling emoticons to posts about CDS General Bipin Rawat's tragic death.
Akbar, who is looking into the formalities to legally change his religion, has changed his name to Ramasimhan.

In the video, he said, "Today, I am throwing away an attire I received by birth. From today onwards I am not a Muslim. I am an Indian. That is my reply to those people who posted thousands of smiling emoticons against India."
"The nation should identify those who smile at the death of the CDS and punish them," he added.

Speaking to TOI, he said several anti-national activities happen on social media and this was one of them.
"Majority of the users who commented with smiling emoticons and celebrated the news of Rawat¡¯s death were Muslims. They did this because Rawat has taken several actions against Pakistan and militants in Kashmir. Despite seeing these public posts, which insulted a brave officer and the nation, any of the top Muslim leaders did not react. I cannot live being part of such a religion".

He added that he wouldn't force his two daughters to also convert but leave the decision to them. "It's their choice," he said.
