Mahira Khan and Ranbir Kapoor's viral pictures are a big testament to everything that is absolutely wrong with the internet today. Within a fraction of seconds, we judge celebrities, make nasty opinions on their choices and try and school them of what's right and wrong. Apart from moral-policing, there is slut-shaming and lessons on how a woman should 'behave' in public.
If we go by Ranbir and Mahira's pictures, it looks nothing more than how a casual evening with your friends would look like. A lazy evening that is spent smoking and chilling around on the streets. However, for internet and some sections of the media, it was all about Mahira and Ranbir's 'alleged' relationship.

Some even went on to pointing Mahira's short-dress, her smoking and how she being a Pakistani is a big disgrace.
Reacting to this, singer and actor Ali Zafar took to Twitter to post an open letter. The letter in no way looks like a defense for Mahira, rather, it looks like an apt lesson that all of us as a society needs a big reminder of! Read on.

He wrote,
¡°What has happened to us? Have we lost all sense of sensibility? Must we choose gossip, intrigue and the self-appointed right of judgment over restrained, grace, tolerance and compassion? Every woman has the right to make her own choices in life (as long she¡¯s not hurting anyone else), just like we men do. How we react defines our own character. Choose wisely, for we SHALL be judged!¡±
