¡®I Feel Very Strong¡¯: Barbarella Actress Jane Fonda Addresses Battling Cancer For The Third Time
Jane Fonda who revealed back in September to have been diagnosed with cancer for the third time has now said that she's feeling stronger.
American actress and activist Jane Fonda has gone headstrong on her cancer diagnosis. The Golden Globe-winning actress has now opened up on giving a tough fight to her non-Hodgkin¡¯s lymphoma and that she is now ¡°halfway through¡± chemotherapy which she finds ¡°easier than a lot of other¡± treatment options.
As per a Female First UK report, Jane said, ¡°I¡¯m not losing my hair. I don¡¯t feel nauseous. The week, when I get the chemo, is hard, but then after that, I feel good. I feel very strong.¡±
The ¡°Grace and Frankie¡± star revealed to People¡¯s Magazine that she even finds time to work out on her treatment days. ¡°I¡¯ve lived a good life. I¡¯ve lived a productive and intentional life. And dying is part of life. I hope that I can be an example to young people so they won¡¯t be afraid of getting older,¡± Jane said.
¡°But you just have to take care of yourself, which I do even now. Even the days that I get chemo, I still do a workout. It¡¯s slow and not what it used to be, but still, I¡¯m moving and keeping strong,¡± said Jane who has numerous accolades in her name that includes two Academy Awards, two British Academy Film Awards, seven Golden Globe Awards and more.
The Female First UK report in concern also revealed that Jane who is all set to turn 85 next month has already started her early celebrations with a party in Atlanta. ¡°The celebrations have raised over $1 million for the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power Potential (GCAPP), the teen pregnancy prevention and adolescent health organisation she founded in 1995,¡± the report added.
What were Jane¡¯s two earlier diagnoses?
In 2010, Fonda was diagnosed with breast cancer and osteoporosis through which she recovered after undergoing a lumpectomy in November of the same year. Later in April 2019, Fonda revealed having a cancerous growth removed from her lower lip in 2018 and pre-melanoma growths removed from her skin. She announced her recent diagnosis on 2nd September 2022 whose chemotherapy will supposedly last for six months.
Jane who in her adulthood developed bulimia said in a media report, ¡°It was in my 40s, and if you suffer from bulimia, the older you get, the worse it gets. It takes longer to recover from a bout ... I had a career, I was winning awards, I was supporting nonprofits, I had a family. I had to make a choice: I live or I die.¡±
