Alia Bhatt's film Darlings lands in soup as 'BoycottAliaBhatt' trends on Twitter.
After Aamir Khan's 'Laal Singh Chaddha' and Akshay Kumar's 'Raksha Bandhan', netizens are now busy trolling Alia Bhatt on social media over her upcoming movie Darlings.
Many people have accused Alia Bhatt of promoting domestic violence against men in her new movie. Mom-to-be Alia Bhatt, who is busy promoting her upcoming Netflix movie Darlings these days, features as a domestic abuse survivor Badrunissa Shaikh, alongside actors Shefali Shah, Roshan Mathew and Vijay Varma among others.
The film shows Alia Bhatt torturing her costar Vijay Varma, who plays the character of Hamza Shaikh, Badru¡¯s husband.
#BoycottAliaBhatt has started trending on Twitter just one day before the film Darlings release on the OTT platform. Netizens took to Twitter to lash out at Alia Bhatt and her latest film.
A user wrote, "It has become a new normal to harass men. Whether it's a coatroom or theatre...... It's time to boycott such a nuisance."
Another said, "Alia Bhatt not only acted in #Darlings, she produced it. She produced a movie which makes entertainment out of torture of men by women."
Some even said that while in the United States people are supporting Hollywood actor Johnny Depp, actress Alia Bhatt is trying to encourage and made joke of domestic violence against men. They even called the Raazi actress, "Amber Heard of India."
