¡®Unki Gaaliyon Ko Gale Lagana Chahta Hun¡¯, Brahmastra Writer On Criticism Over Film¡¯s Dialogues
Brahmastra's dialogues were trolled like anything upon its release. Now, its writer Hussain Dalal has shed words in defence.
Last year Brahmastra took over the country with its grand VFX and meme material dialogues. From Alia Bhatt¡¯s Shiva... Shiva... that stayed heavy on our heads for months to Ranbir Kapoor comparing Brahmastra to pizza, we wonder what else can be worse than that. Film¡¯s dialogue writer Hussain Dalal now has a defence to it.

Saying that he¡¯s grateful for all the reception, Dalal has a positive take on trolls.
He told ETimes, "I'm grateful that I have work. I didn't grow up in a world believing I'm entitled to any success, fame, fortune, work or anything. I worked my way up so, I'm very grateful, that, agar log gaali de rahe hai toh atleast dekh ke gaali de rahe hain, toh main bohot khush hoon ke unhone waqt nikala aur dekha.¡±

¡°Unki gaaliyon ko bhi main gale lagaana chahta hoon aur unke praise ko bhi gale lagaana chahta hoon. Nobody learns everything and comes (into this world). There was a lot of trolling, people made a lot of fun, and they made memes also, but people saw it. If there's food at home and work, then I'll always be grateful,¡± he added.
For the unversed, this Ayan Mukherji directorial grossed over 430 crores at the box office and became the highest-grosser Indian film post-pandemic. Apart from being a writer, Hussain Dalal is also an actor who was recently seen in 'Salesman of the year'. He has written dialogues for several other movies including 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' and 'Saaho¡¯.
Dalal¡¯s next work is Kartik Aaryan starrer 'Shehzada' which is a remake of Allu Arjun starrer 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo'. When asked about the changes we¡¯ll see in the film's Hindi version, Dalal said, "Rohit has made the changes in the screenplay and we've tried to do our best to make it the most original film that we can while we've honoured the original as well."
Film¡¯s director Ayan has earlier spoken about Brahmastra¡¯s dialogue and defended Dalal from facing the audience's brunt.

He told Indian Express, ¡°Shiva and Isha are modern contemporary characters and so I thought that they should come across like the modern generation. Maine unke dialogues usi jagah se likhe jaha se maine Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani ke dialogues likhe the and it was a 50-50 process between me and Hussain Dalal.¡±
¡°I will think and reflect on it. We will definitely take all the feedback to improve the experience of Brahmastra even more. I haven¡¯t been able to absorb all the reviews that have come. I will of course read all the reviews, criticism and fan theories and take them into consideration before moving on to part two,¡± he added.
