After the grand success of Mirzapur, Divyenndu Sharma is gearing up for his next film Mere Desh Ki Dharti. He hopes that he aspires farmers with the movie, which he says is every much relevant amid the ongoing protests.
"This film is very, very close to my heart and that's why I am very protective about this film. I really want this film to reach out to as many people as possible, especially the farmers so maybe whatever we have done in the film if that could inspire them, not solve but assist them in any way in their problems would be a great thing, a great start," he was quoted as saying by IANS.
Mere Desh Ki Dharti is said to be a humourous yet inspirational take on the journey of two engineers, one of which is played by Divyenndu, who are abject failures in urban world but icons in the rural India.
"This is a special one for me and especially the current scenario, what's happening with the farmers, it becomes more important", he said.
Also starring Anant Vidhaat and Anupria Goenka, Faraz Haider directorial has other great actors like Inaamulhaq, Brijendra Kala, Rajesh Sharma, Atul Shrivastava and Farrukh Jafar playing pivotal roles.
Before Mirzapur, Divyenndu Sharma shot to limelight because of his role in Pyaar Ka Punchnama. In an interview with Indiatimes, the actor had revealed why he rejected the second film.
"The makers wanted me to become a part of Pyaar Ka Punchama 2 because Liquid was such a hit character, but I wanted to play different characters. My whole aim is to be different whenever I come on stage or screen. I didn¡¯t want to particularly be a part of one genre. I wanted to explore and stand somewhere as an actor. My director Luv really understood my reason for saying no to the film.¡±
"I always knew Pyaar Ka Punchama 2 will be a super hit and it will become a very big franchise but even after knowing all this I said no to it which shows that I have some guts as an artist. But as an actor, I have no regrets about not being a part of it because I am not here to play safe, do stuff which is more commercial," he added.
