Farhan Akhtar has penned a message slamming those who have criticised Cristiano Ronaldo after Portugal's defeat in the recently concluded World Cup.
Bollywood actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has penned a post on social media to appreciate Cristiano Ronaldo and slam those who have criticized the soccer star. Cristiano Ronaldo played for Portugal in the recently concluded World Cup in Qatar.
However, we know that Argentina won the finale against France, and Portugal lost to Spain and couldn't make it to the World Cup finals. Many criticized Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal's ill fate in the World Cup.
However, Farhan Akhtar has come out in support of the soccer star. Farhan took to Twitter on Wednesday (December 21) and wrote that it annoys him "to see commentators diss him and speak of him as a has-been."
Farhan also went on to say that Ronaldo "has given his life to the game, set standards of skill, athleticism and fitness that most sportspeople can only fantasise about."
Slamming those criticizing the soccer player, Farhan Akhtar wrote, "This is a @cristiano Ronaldo appreciation post. This guy has given his life to the game, set standards of skill, athleticism and fitness that most sportspeople can only fantasise about. It¡¯s so easy to tear someone down in a moment when they stop behaving like robots and display human emotion."
"It¡¯s so easy to forget how fortunate we¡¯ve been to witness him take the beautiful game to a whole other level through sheer commitment, hard work and improvement through self analysis," the actor further added in his note.
On the work front, Farhan Akhtar is all set to don the hat of a director with an upcoming road trip film titled Jee Le Zaraa. The film will star three of the top Bollywood actresses - Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, and
Priyanka Chopra.
Apart from acting, Farhan Akhtar is also a well-known singer. In a recent interview with ETimes, the actor opened up about his equation with his father Javed Akhtar when it comes to debating over song lyrics.
Farhan said that in Dil Chahta Hai, which also marked his directorial debut in Bollywood, he didn't like the word ¡®chamkeele¡¯ (which means bright) in its title track as he initially associated it with detergent.
The actor also revealed that he had an issue with the line ¡®Kabhi na beete ye chamkeele din¡¯ in the song. ¡°I said, ¡®That¡¯s too detergent a word, we can¡¯t have this in song,'¡± Farhan recalled during the interview with the publication.
