What is the case about?
Police officer Harpreet Singh who was on election duty that day said that he got information from an informer that Sonu Sood was influencing voters to vote for his sister. He was apparently going from one polling booth to another to use his star power to influence voters.
We should be extremely careful of rumors and fake news & ensure that we all go out and vote for the right candidate who can bring the change for the betterment of our society.

Your every vote will strengthen our democracy and is crucial for the development of our country
It is said that since Sood isn't a voter in the Moga assembly constituency, he was not authorised to move out or "influence" voters or campaign for any political party or candidate.
Therefore, the Election Commission had sent him back home and had impounded his car.

Denying the allegations, Sonu Sood explained, "I have not asked anyone to vote for my sister or campaigned for her on the day of polling".
Answering why he was at the polling station, he said, "The Akali candidate, Barjinder Singh Brar alias Makhan Brar, was threatening our workers sitting in the party booth located outside the polling station, which was set-up with the permission of the election commission."
"We have filed a complaint against Makhan Brar with the election commission and the local administration for legal action but no action has been taken against him."
We got to know of threat calls at various booths by opposition, especially the people of Akali Dal. Money being distributed at some booths. So it's our duty to go check & ensure fair elections. That's why we had gone out. Now, we're at home. There should be fair polls: Sonu Sood pic.twitter.com/Va93f3V7zH

"I'm a permanent resident of Moga city. I was born and brought-up here. I own a house and some shops in Moga. How could I be an outsider."
