In the mid-1990s, Mandakini quit working in the film industry. Her movie Ram Teri Ganga Maili got her into a little too much spotlight. She caused a stir for going bold in the movie and till date people associate her with it. The actress however decided to quit because she wanted to move on from the controversies and restart it all.

Kimi Katkar debuted as a supporting actress in the 1985 movie Patthar Dil. She starred in 35 films between 1988 and 1990, with 15 of the films being released in 1989 alone. After marrying photographer and commercial filmmaker Shantanu Sheorey in 1992, Katkar left the Hindi cinema industry and moved to Melbourne, Australia.

After marrying investment banker Harish Mysore in 1995, Meenakshi Seshadri decided to put her family before acting, which is the main reason she quit Bollywood. She settled down and started a family overseas after getting married.
