Acknowledging his years-long struggle with addiction at that moment, she continued, her voice choked with tears.

The actor's battle with addiction began with consistent drinking at the young age of 18, eventually spiraling into a Vicodin addiction around 1996 following a jet ski accident.
According to Variety, he once found himself taking a staggering 55 pills each day.
Perry's commitment to recovery led him to attend thousands of AA meetings and check into rehab 15 times, incurring a substantial financial cost estimated between $7 and $9 million.

Perry's memoir not only served as a cathartic outlet for his own experiences but also as a means to offer guidance and hope to others facing similar struggles.
It notably featured a foreword from his Friends co-star, Lisa Kudrow, reflecting the profound impact of his journey on those who knew and worked with him.

"This is the first time I'm hearing what living with and surviving his addiction really was. Matthew has told me some things, but not in this kind of detail," she wrote. "He's now letting us into Matthew's head and heart in honest and very exposed detail. And finally, no one needs to ask me or anyone else how Matthew's doing. He's letting you know himself."
She added, "He has survived impossible odds, but I had no idea how many times he almost didn't make it. I¡¯m glad you're here, Matty. Good for you. I love you."
Matthew Perry passed away on Saturday, October 28, at the age of 54.
