He also talked about his wife Minal Modi who had died of cancer in 2018. For the unversed, rumours are rife that Minal Modi was friends with Lalit Modi's mother, and hence, the family was initially not ready for marriage due to the age gap.
"Lalit said he would create a scandal if the marriage was not agreed to. The Modis were left with no choice," a family friend told Bangalore Mirror.
"And if u don¡¯t know let me Enlighten u All- departed love of my life #minalmodi was MY BEST FRIEND for 12 years whilst she was married. She was not my mothers friend. It's not fair for a fugitive
He deserves worst
Lalit Modi, in 2010, fled to London citing a threat to his life.
The BCCI committee under the supervision of the late Arun Jaitely, in 2013, had found him guilty of eight charges that include signing a free commercial time deal without governing council¡¯s approval, rigging bids, favouring the World Sports Group over TV rights and planning a rival cricket league.

ITS TIME YOU WOKE UP - when I joined BCCI IT HAD 40 crores in the bank. I joined on my birthday nov 29 2005. Guess what was in the bank when I was BANNED - 47,680 crores - that 17 billion usd. Did even 1 clown help. No. They had no idea even where to start. Shame on u fake media. .Now they act like HEROS. Have integrity for once."
