Leonardo DiCaprio Did Not Donate Rs 76 Crore To Support Grandmother's Native Country Ukraine
Leonardo DiCaprio, who has always spoken about the causes he supports and strongly feels about, has donated USD 10 million to support Ukraine in the midst of the ongoing war with Russia.

The actor, environmentalist and philanthropist's maternal grandmother, Helene Indenbirken, was born in Odessa as Jelena Stepanovna Smirnova, reports polishnews.co.uk. She reportedly migrated from there with her parents to Germany, where the Hollywood actor's mother was born.
While DiCaprio himself hasn't made the official announcement about his donation to Ukraine, International Visegrad Fund -- a project of the Visegrad Group that aims at financial support for international initiatives, has announced the same.
Leonardo DiCaprio's grandmother passed away at the age of 93 in 2008. It is said that DiCaprio who was mainly raised by her mother was very close to her. His grandmother supported his film career too. She would appear at the screenings of his films as well.
DiCaprio has long been involved in initiatives devoted to combating climate catastrophe. Already in 1998, as a 25-year-old, he founded the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation with his family, supporting ¡°sustainable development around the world".

Several other Hollywood stars have stood up against the war. One of them is Robert De Niro who said at an event that everything must be done to stop Russian aggression. Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively also took a part in fundraiser motivating people to support Ukraine and pledging to double each amount donated.
